Australian Building Industry Contracts (ABIC)

The Australian Building Industry Contracts (ABIC) are jointly published by Master Builders Australia Limited (Master Builders) and the Australian Institute of Architects (Institute). They are intended for use in building projects where an architect administers the contract.

Tasmanian ABIC contracts have been drawn up specifically for use in the state of Tasmania. Acumen practice advisory website has a collection of sample ABIC contracts.

For detailed information on ABIC contracts, including purchasing options, visit the ABIC building industry contracts page.

Mentoring Scheme

Call for mentors and mentees – 2019 Tasmanian Mentoring Scheme

Are you a registered architect looking to further the profession by sharing your knowledge and skills with the next generation of architects? Or are you a graduate member looking for guidance as you begin your career? The Institute’s Tasmanian Chapter is now calling for applicants for the 2019 Tasmanian Mentoring Scheme.

Mentors must be current members of the Institute, must be registered in Tasmania and must be covered by Professional Indemnity Insurance.

Mentees may be working within the profession or may be graduates, seeking work within the profession, must have completed a professionally accredited and recognised architecture course and not already be a registered architect in any state or territory.

If you would like to be involved as a mentor or a mentee, download the guidelines, complete an application form by COB, Friday 14 June, and send it through to Fiona McMullen at the Institute office.
